Prevent "The International Concert for Freedom" being on Sword beach in Normandy
Prevent / reconsider "The International Concert for Freedom" being on held on Sword beach in Normandy; a recognised invasion scene of Battle on D-Day 1944. This location is where veterans / families return to pay respects, the remains of former veterans (Ashes) are laid and where the fallen remain.
On the 6th June 2019, the 75th commemorations of the Normandy landings. It is proposed by the Ouistreham commune, the Calvados department in Normandy with the organisers of "The Liberty Concerts to hold a concert under the guise of "The International Concert for Freedom" . On the beaches Ouistreham designated Sword beach on D-Day. The organisers predict 1 million guests. This petition is to prevent the concert been held on this sensitive area /scene of battle and reconsider its location.
