To stop motor bikes over / undertaking through two lines or more of traffic.
Every time you come to a two or more lane junction or even the motorway there is someone on a motor bike that goes up the white line normally at a rate of speed just because they can.
Quite of you can be sat at junction waiting to turn right and for someone to let you across when someone does you start to across the traffic and a motor bike speeds through
