Petition Action

Shift England (and Wales) summer holiday to span over July rather than August.

Petition Details

Though the highest temperatures of the year are in July, the summer holidays of England and Wales are in August. Students have to spend this time in school, instead of spending time socialising others on holiday both home and abroad. Rather than extending it, it should be moved around a month early.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The UK Government doesn't set school holiday dates. These are the responsibility of individual schools and local councils.
