Give the People a Referendum on any change to MPs Salary or Holiday entitlement.
MPs pay rises are always a difficult topic and the perception of the public can be very negative when they are proposed.
Give the decisions on any changes in MPs Pay and benefits to the people in a referendum to restore the bond of trust between the people and their representatives.
Recently the Government were going to try to get Parliament to go into summer recess 5 days early until they saw that it was not popular. We are called to trust out MPs, let them also show trust in the people of the UK.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
MPs don't have a holiday entitlement, so it wouldn't be possible to have a referendum on that.
We could accept a petition calling for a public referendum to be required to decide on any changes to MP's pay, if that's what you would like to happen.
