Petition Action

Cap Solicitors and Barristers extortionate charges. Make the law affordable.

Petition Details

A typical Solicitor charges a minimum of £250 plus vat per hour. This is scandalous. Unjustified and means only the rich can afford to go to court and be represented. A monopoly used to bleed often desperate people dry.

Additional Information

Barristers of course will cost you even more. They also abuse their position to extort vast sums using their monopolistic right to represent people in court.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure what level you would like legal fees to be capped at, or how exactly you would like this to work.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
