Review the planning decision made for Blaengwrach P2017/0112

Petition Details

Planning approval for a petrol station and a fast food drive-thru was given in June 2017 in the village of Blaengwrach. Our village is in danger from traffic and fumes, and our primary school is less than 300 metres away from the site. The planning authority refuse to address any of our concerns.

Additional Information

Our community has been fighting this for a year and continues to object strongly. The application was rushed to full approval in 6 weeks based on incorrect details and factual errors. We were unable to organise as a community and appeal within judicial review deadlines but have continued to appeal to the local authority with no cooperation yet. Our primary concerns are traffic and health and the number of errors and inconsistencies throughout this entire approval. We want a just and fair review.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Local planning issues are the responsibility of your local council.

You could raise your issue with a local councillor who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:

Once an application is made for the development to take place, all local residents have the right to request that a planning application be ‘called in’ by the Department for Housing, Communities and Local Government. This means that it will look at the planning application and decide if a full inquiry is needed. You can find more information about calling in a planning application, including how to apply for a call-in here:

You could also contact your local MP. You can use this page to find out who your local MP is and how to contact them:
