Stop the closure & sale of RAF Scampton - Home of the Red Arrows and Dambusters
In May 1943, Lancaster bombers of 617 Sqd (The Dambusters) left RAF Scampton to carry out air raids on the dams of the Ruhr valley, in the most famous air raid of World War II.
Since 2000 it has been the home of the world famous Red Arrows & the headquarters to 1 Air Control Centre.
The sale of will mean the loss of 600 jobs.
This is an important part of British History & should not be sold, lost abandoned or forgotten about.
The sale is not just about the loss of jobs, but is also about the loss of a major site in British military history.
Far too much of our History has been lost this way. I am a proud British citizen I care about losing yet more of our rich proud History.
Not the way we should mark the 100th anniversary of the RAF!
