A proper independent body should be created to replace the Electoral Commission.
The reputation of the Electoral Commission has suffered after a series of scandals related to political bias by its commissioners and the conduct of its investigations.
It's time to create a new organisation for electoral scrutiny whose governance and actions are analysed and made more accountable.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The Electoral Commission is already an independent body.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
