Petition Action

Immediately invoke the instruction of the majority who voted to leave the EU

Petition Details

Article 50.1 of the Lisbon Treaty sets out that a member can leave by " Any Member State may decide to withdraw from the Union in accordance with its own constitutional requirements." The UK electorate have issued an instruction to government to leave. Government should immediately carry this out.

Additional Information

It's clear that the EU negotiators are playing hard-ball and no matter what the UK negotiating team do, the EU side appear to dismiss UK attempts at an amicable separation. 2 years since the referendum and the negotiations have reached an impasse. Parliament and its members, have been instructed by the majority of voters to Leave the EU. The government should now withdraw its negotiating team and advise the EU that no further negotiation will take place. It is time the UK took a firmer position.
