Respond specifically to the ‘broken electoral laws’ issue on petition 223729
The government’s response to the petition “Rescind Art.50 if Vote Leave has broken Electoral Laws regarding 2016 referendum” failed to address the concern about unlawful campaigning conduct.
There is no mention of it in the response. As such, the response is irrelevant and insufficient.
The government’s ‘cut and paste’ response to this petition is insulting and undemocratic.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
We understand that you are not satisfied with the Government's response to this petition:
petition.parliament.uk/petitions/223729
However, we cannot accept your petition whilst the original petition is still open.
The Petitions Committee, which oversees the petitioning process, will be writing to the Government to ask for a revised response. The Committee has scheduled a debate on petition 223729 for 10 September.
You could contact the Department for Exiting the European Union, which submitted the Government's response, or submit a new petition once petition 223729 has closed.
