One hour in the week turn the lights off to view the observable universe.
One hour in the week where we all turn the lights (even if it’s just around a certain mile radius) off to help reduce light pollution so we can view the observable galaxy.
Light pollution is the excessive or misdirected outdoor lighting that is threatening to destroy virtually all casual stargazing. Throughout much of the UK for instance, millions upon millions of precious watts are wasted because poorly designed streetlamps send a portion of their light into the sky.Over the past two decades, the increase in this ubiquitous, overly bright and garish lighting has so polluted the night we no longer see he stars with a naked eye.
