Allow parents to claim carers allowance for more than one child who receive DLA
I am a mother of 2 disabled children. They both are in reciept of high rate DLA and mobility. Therefore I claim carers allowance of £64.60 a week which is way below the national minimum wage. One of my children has various complex medical neeeds and is a full on 24/7 365 days a week nursing role.
As parents and full time carers to our children, most of us can not work due to the complex nature of our children’s medical needs. Therefore I am calling on our government to enable us full time parent carers of more than one disabled child to be able to claim the £64.60 per week for each of our children who are in receipt of DLA and not just one.
