Petition Action

Refund the Brexit negotiating team's salaries back to the taxpayer.

Petition Details

If reports that the UK is heading for a no deal Brexit are correct, the government's Brexit negotiating team might as well never have existed. British taxpayers paid these people to negotiate a deal with the EU, and two years on a deal has not been achieved.

Additional Information

As such, we demand a refund for the salaries and expenses of each and every member of the Department for Exiting the European Union for the duration of their post from 24th June 2016 to present day.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The Government is legally obliged to pay civil servants' salaries, so we're not sure exactly what action you expect the UK Government to take.
