To set up a scheme to support banks and building societies who offer 95% LTV

Petition Details

I would like call upon the Government to set up a scheme to support banks and building societies who offer 95 -98 % LTV mortgages to tenants who have been renting for 36 months or more to be able to obtain a mortgage.

Additional Information

More than 3,700 homes are standing empty in Leicester and Leicestershire.
Latest figures obtained by the BBC show that 1,336 homes are unoccupied in the city and a further 2,372 around the county are also currently not lived in.
A further 183 in Rutland are also empty.
We have also become a nation of renters, with rents higher then some mortgage payments, tenants should be able to buy on the open market esp First time Home buyers.
