Introduce Mental Health into school curriculum.
Mental health needs to be taught in schools so people have the awareness and knowledge to know the warning signs and help to save lifes. Recently a friend of mine has committed suicide, he has left everyone completely heart broken and devastated , but also shocked that he had to suffer in scilece.
In the UK 16 million people experience mental illness.1 in 4 are adults ranging from anxiety, depression, alcohol dependence, substance misuse and psychosis. 3 in 4 mental illness start in childhood.75% of mental illness start before a child reaches the age of 18. 50% of mental health in adult life start before the age of 15. Over the last two years there’s been a 70% increase in self harm in 10-14 year Olds and a 106% increase in young people going to A&E with mental illnesses.
