Funding home visits in times of crisis by trained mental health professionals
After a local woman tried to take her life, the community were left horrified in discovering proper professional help was not available to her, and she was left for hours before receiving the help she needed.
We are calling for more funding and correct training for these circumstances so that no one needing help in times of crisis are left without it. This woman was fortunate to have a strong community of neighbours who were able to help her.
It's easy to point the finger and say people in need should seek help, but what happens when the help just isn't there?
