Release convicted sex offenders records to the public when they turn 18
How can parents protect our children when sex offenders convicted under 18 have their records sealed. Information on gets released if they are caught reoffending.
Any convicted sex offender is a risk to children no matter how old they were when they were convicted. The public need to be kept informed so we can better protect our children from abuse and exploitation.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
In some circumstances, the criminal records of someone who was convicted of a sexual offence before the age of 18 may be available to the public.
Anyone can ask for the police to check to see whether someone with access to children has a record for child sex offences:
www.nspcc.org.uk/services-and-resources/research-and-resources/factsheet-and-briefings/child-sex-offender-disclosure-scheme/
Employers can ask for a criminal records check (called a DBS check). You can find the rules regarding disclosure of criminal offences here:
www.gov.uk/government/publications/dbs-filtering-guidance/dbs-filtering-guide
You could start a new petition setting out clearly what you would like the UK Government or Parliament to do.
