MCA to be held accountable for their failings to deliver acceptable service

Petition Details

The Maritime & Coastguard Agency consistently fail to deliver an acceptable level of service to UK seafarers. Their inability to process applications, renewals and paperwork in a reasonable time period results in loss of income for UK seafarers in an already difficult career market.

Additional Information

While waiting on the Maritime & Coastguard Agency to process applications, seafarers are unable to work due to the need to send original documentation to the agency - it is normal for paperwork to sit at the Maritime & Coastguard Agency for months before being opened. (As in case of a GMDSS renewal received by MCA on 10th of July 2018 and as of 28th of August 2018 was confirmed as not having started being processed).

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You can find out how to make a complaint about the Maritime & Coastguard Agency here:

www.gov.uk/government/organisations/maritime-and-coastguard-agency/about/complaints-procedure

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
