Gender parity:50/50(women/men)in parliament/government,public institutions.
The parliament and local governments to be truly representative should introduce equal representation: parity/quotas. 50/50 (men/women) as MPs, Peers, Councillors, members of Cabinet and board members in public institutions.Half of the population are women.
In Commons (26%)Lords(24%) Cllrs(24%).
Gender parity increases the competence of politicians and creates equal opportunity. There are only 6 women in Cabinet for 23 posts in total. In businesses, women make up to 15% of board members. Average women make up to 37% of all governing/public body members.
Quotas should be equally related to men and women in all governmental institutions.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The selection of candidates in seats for local and national government is the responsibility of political parties and not the UK Government and Parliament as a whole.
You could start a petition calling on Parliament to pass a law requiring parties to introduce gender quotas for elections to the UK Parliament and/or local authorities. You could also start a petition calling for a law requiring gender quotes among appointments as Government Ministers, Members of the House of Lords or members of the boards of public bodies.
