Place a cap on the amount of charges that can be applied to debts
Currently Mental Illness and Suicides from this are a major problem, an issue which is observed in some of these instances is the financial side.
Too many people are getting into debt, but the charges applied on top are making people struggle to ever get out this situation.
Bailiffs are coming across as intimidating and adding ridiculous fees which can be more costly than the debt itself.
Having a debt management meeting or something to give flexibility would be an excellent idea.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions have to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you would like the Government or Parliament to legislate for a cap on charges applied to debts, but we are not sure whether you mean a cap on interest rates or on other types of charges. We are also not sure whether you want a requirement to attend debt management meetings.
You could start a new petition setting out clearly what action you would like the Government or Parliament to take.
