Income Tax changes to be more diverse either individual or per house hold
Currently income tax works on an individual basis, therefore if a household has two workers at 35k they both pay 20% tax each, however in a family with children only one adult works they are penalised after 46k,
Council tax and other taxes work on the basis of per house hold so why not for Income Tax, changing this to a per household rate allowing partners to absorb/ utilise the tax allowance prior to the increase to 40% and/or 50%.
Example could be: Adult 1 salary 20k, Adult 2 salary 60k tax would only increase to 40% once 80k mark has hit, this would aide families where only one parent is working and/ or coupled adults living under a single roof
