Petition Action

Make political leaders accountable for their manifesto promises

Petition Details

When political leaders have their election campaigns, we are promised things in their manifestos. As soon as we vote for them based on their manifestos and they are duly elected to run the country, they go back on their promises. If someone in business does not deliver, they are no longer employed!

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to make political leaders accountable for their manifesto promises.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition asking for political advertising to be regulated in the same way as other adverts, is that's something that you'd like to happen.
