Force all major food production companies to use biodegradable packaging.
After the recent report on global warming, it is clear that the government must act now to stop the overproduction of plastics in the food industry. Companies such as Graze have already been doing this for some years, showing there are easy and cheap alternatives.
80% of supermarkets have already signed up to reducing their use of single-use plastics. the supermarket industry is one of the biggest users of plastics in the UK and an Act prohibiting single-use plastic's would be a step in the right direction.
