Petition Action

Not to consider giving High Court Judges ridiculous pay rises.

Petition Details

The pay review body is sanctioning a 32% pay rise in 2018 for high court judges. This is because there is low moral in the profession and changes to their pension. The Civil Service already suffered low moral and changes to their pension without any monetary compensation or wage rises.

Additional Information

The pay rise has been reported through numerous media outlets on 12th October 2018.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We understand that you'd like High Court Judges not to receive certain pay rises, but we're not sure exactly what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a petition calling on the UK Government to reject the advice of the Senior Salaries Review Body if that is something you would like to see happen.
