Doctors should have priority access to NHS treatment to enable fast returntowork
NHS demand is increasing with UK increasing and ageing population. Number of doctors is in decline worse affected is General Practice For improving recruitment, retention and workforce capacity allowing Doctors to have fast track access to NHS treatments will help their return back to work quickly.
The supply of GPs is under growing strain as the workforce ages.
In 2010, more than a fifth of GPs were aged 55 and over; those leaving the profession rose by 7.8 per cent and surveys indicate a further 10,000 GPs plan to retire in the next five years.
At the same time, the proportion of medical trainees choosing to enter GP specialty training has fallen. AE, mental health, secondary care cant keep the services with no Doctors.
