Petition Action

Change in the “LAWS” regarding “DOGS” in Public Spaces as it is Worthless Now.

Petition Details

At this time Nobody upholds the Laws regarding Dogs in Public Spaces, Nobody Scans them for a Microchip, also who deals with Dog owners who have Dogs loose where they Attack other Dogs or sometimes their owners, we live where there are a Range of Hills and Common land, a dog attacked one of two men.

Additional Information

The Trust that runs the Hills and Commons has nobody who can Fine and Enforce the Laws, it would take the Police some time to get to an Incident by which the ones involved are long gone, we have been told of some really nasty Attacks with Dogs being Ripped open, this could be a Small Child and the Owners Must be Punished as they know their own Dog, Sheep and Cattle are Allowed to graze but every year Sheep are Killed in a Horrible way and Cattle have had their Mouths Attacked Bleeding.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

It's clear you care about dog attacks, however, we're not sure exactly sure how you'd like the law to be changed.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

You may find this House of Commons library note about Dangerous Dogs and the current law helpful: researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/SN04348
