Petition Action

Increase the number of police officers on streets of London

Petition Details

Crimes, bike thefts, robberies, shootings , stabbings and so on, couple of those every single day.
The Met Police force owes its officers 189,000 rest days, there have been cuts to Met Police, they are hard working and there aren’t enough of police officers on London streets.

Additional Information

The crimes were rising and Government decided to do cuts to Police even though they have already been cut with power as most of them only have batons and handcuffs against people with guns and knifes, how are they supposed to stop crime right away ? They need guns every single one of them and shoot criminals before they kill normal hard working civilians trying to get home after work and to see their family.
Increase number of police officers in London Streets and make them have guns!

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because it's about something the UK Government or Parliament is not responsible for.

The Mayor of London is responsible for the Metropolitan Police.

You can find out how to petition the Greater London Assembly, which looks at the work of the Mayor, here:

www.london.gov.uk/about-us/london-assembly/petitions

You could start a new petition calling on the UK Government to provide more funding to the Metropolitan Police if that is something you would like to see happen.
