Petition Details

We, the Commonwealth Nationals who are resident in the UK are calling on the Prime Minister and her Government to grant amnesty to Commonwealth Citizens, who have remained in the UK for at least 10 years or more. We are urging the UK Government to exercise compassion and justice to grant amnesty.

Additional Information

Granting Amnesty to commonwealth national will give them the opportunity to contribute to the public purse and NHS. Due to Brexit, most EU citizens will be leaving the UK and leaving their jobs. Skilful commonwealth citizens will serve as a replacement in all sectors of the economy

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We aren't sure what you mean by requesting an amnesty for Commonwealth Citizens.

You could start a new petition setting out clearly what changes you would like to see to the immigration or naturalisation rules relating to Commonwealth Citizens.
