Petition Action

Tax companies more who sell single use plastics, and unrecycable packaging

Petition Details

It is well known that food packaging is not getting recycled, and we have an excessive use of plastics. Hence why we created a plastic carrier bag charge. To protect the environment, we need to ensure companies provide recycable packaging. For example, crisp packets are not recycable.

Additional Information

Www.recyclenow.com advised crisp packets are not recycable because they are made of “metallised plastic film”. Also, sponge scourers for washing dishes contain micro plastics, materials not recycable like these have been posted wide spread across the news about the dangers they pose.

We introduced a sugar tax 6th April to benefit the country of the UK and fight poor health and obesity. We can have a positive again by endorsing a cut back on the use of dangerous packaging.
