Make the English literature exam (Summer 2019) open book.
GCSE students every year struggle in their English literature exams as they have to remember the context and several quotes from 16 poems and they have to remember the plot, characters and several quotes from 3 novels/plays.
Shouldn't the exam boards be testing us on our knowledge on analysing instead of our strength at cramming quotes into our memory while we have other exams as well?
