Increase police stop search powers
Knife crime and possession of drugs is rife in the UK. Current legislation under s1 PACE, s60 CJPO, and s23 Misuse of Drugs Act is too restrictive and current policies and rules prevent police searching individuals and the criminals know this. As a result crime,ASB, and disorder is out of control.
Remove restrictions on police use of stop search, especially around s.60 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act which senior police managers are frightened to use for fear of upsetting the community. Give power back to the bobby on the street who faces the dangers to protect his community.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand that you would like to increase the police's power to stop and search, but we are not sure how you would like its use to be changed. In particular we are not sure what you mean by "rules prevent police searching individuals".
You could start a new petition setting out clearly how you would like the rules changed.
