Every town should have at least one bank.
Every town should have a bank! Our bank in Dartmouth, Devon got closed down for the fact that it wasn’t busy enough. But every time I went in there (almost every week) it was packed! Now the nearest banks are 6-11 miles away!
Not everyone can travel to the bank or use online banking for example the elderly, so they are now struggling to get any advice on what to do if they have a problem or they simply need to pay in some money or a cheque.
32.1% of Dartmouth’s population is made up of 65+ year olds and I imagine that quite a lot of them struggle with online banking and traveling to Totnes, Torquay or Paignton!
Not to mention there is now only one ATM in town and the stand up one in co-op barely ever works!

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The UK Government or Parliament isn't responsible for deciding where to site banks.
You could start a new petition asking the UK Government to introduce incentives for banks to open branches in towns without a branch at present.
