Public vote of no confidence in Conservative/DUP government.

Petition Details

Chance for public to raise a vote of no confidence in the current Conservative/DUP government. Call for general election.

This government are destroying the country with austerity, chronically underfunding services such as police & NHS and reducing support to the most vulnerable.

Additional Information

There is a huge human and economic cost already due to policies of this government, this will only get worse. People are dying in the hundreds of thousands from mass increase in violent crime, poverty from universal credit cuts/sanctions, and being made homeless among many other issues created by this government. None of this is acceptable!

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept petitions about appointments, which includes calling for Ministers, including the Prime Minister, to be sacked or for a vote of no confidence.

We used to accept petitions that called for a vote of no confidence. However, the Petitions Committee can’t schedule votes of no confidence. This was often frustrating and disappointing for petitioners.

If you're concerned about a particular policy or decision that's the responsibility of Government or the House of Commons, you could start a petition about that.
Petitions calling for action on policy are more likely to be an effective way of achieving the change you want.
