Require differential off-peak electricity rates.

Petition Details

The energy companies have eroded the differential between the night time and day time electricity tariffs, originally introduced to provide competition to other providers of energy, such as oil and gas.

Additional Information

The recent hikes in off-peak rates for electricity have made heating homes for users of storage heaters, in particular, very difficult. Many people, often pensioners, invested in this form of central heating years ago and would find a change to oil (or gas if available) central heating prohibitive.
