Remove tampon tax
In the United Kingdom, female sanitary products are taxed at 5%. Without sanitary products, women across the U.K. would be stuck at home, unable to attend their work or school, missing out on valuable education. It is absurd that something so necessary is considered a luxury product.
At only age 16, it is calculated that I have spent £193.69 on sanitary products, £9.22 of which was spent on tax.
Throughout my lifetime it is predicted that having my period will cost me £1,510.81, £71.94 of which would have been spent on tax.
