Prevent Christmas themed adverts airing on TV before 1st December
Retailers advertising for Christmas as soon as Bonfire night is finished are completely ruining Christmas for children, putting unnecessary pressure on parents and creating the farcicle situation where they are advertising turkey dinners when you can't even buy one!
Turn the TV on in early November and wait for the bombardment of jingling bells, snow, over laden tables, paper hats and Santa's. What more evidence do you require? Please give us all a break and stop this madness.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government is not directly responsible for advertising. All forms of advertising in the UK are regulated by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), who impose the British Advertising Codes.
