BBC to add like/dislike button to iplayer

Petition Details

The BBC is currently paid for by us all but yet it is a one way conversation, I like a lot of what the BBC produces and dislike a lot else, the iPlayer already has the technology built in to validate me as a licence payer and ensure I have only 1 vote, I'd like everything on iPlayer.

Additional Information

I'd like to allow me to vote Like or Dislike on the programme. And I would like the results to be shown and the BBC to listen to those results.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This decision is the responsibility of the BBC. The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
