Season rail fares for work commuters should be capped to 20% of take home salary
People spend upto 40% of their take home salary for work commute, which is exorbitant. People some times do not have any options but to travel long distances. I believe the government should support such individuals who go out of their comfort zone to support their families.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take specific action.
We understand you are concerned about rail fares but we are not sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
You could start a new petition calling on the Government to establish a statutory discount card for long distance commuters if that is something you would like to see.
