Petition Action

ALL Police Forces, take their duty of care seriously for staff re Mental Health.

Petition Details

1 in 4 people in the UK suffer with some form of mental health.
It was reported in April 2018 that at least 80% of Police Officers in the UK suffer with some form of Mental Health problems. That;s 8 out of 10!!! MANY officers are treated unfairly and go completely unsupported by their force!!!!

Additional Information

This is without the members of Police Staff also affected and treated in the same way. People are disciplined and even sacked for being mentally ill and forces are getting away with it.
There are massive inconsistencies throughout the country in treatment, IF support is given this is limited due to funds being restricted. Officers are taking their own lives because they have nowhere to go and get no support. It is NOT acceptable and the Government need to ensure Police Forces take ownership.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the mental health of police officers, but are unsure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

You could start a new petition calling on the UK Government to establish a scheme to support current and former police officers facing mental health problems if that is something you would like to see happen.
