Make a statement on if there will be an extra £350 million per week for our NHS.
“We send the EU £350 million a week. Let’s fund our NHS instead.”
A recent study by King's College London has shown that 42% of Britons who had heard of this famous claim still believe it.
We demand the Government indicate whether this shall be the case after leaving the EU.
In 2016 the UK Statistics Authority debunked the Vote Leave claim that the UK contributes £350 million to the EU each week, and that this full amount could be spent on the NHS. Despite this, a recent study by King's College has shown that 42% of Britons who had heard of the claim still believe it. (https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/vote-leave-brexit-lies-eu-pay-money-remain-poll-boris-johnson-a8603646.html)
Therefore, it is important for our democracy that the Government issue a statement to eliminate public confusion over the matter.
