Price freeze on January train fare increase
Each year rail companies put an increase on rail fares. However, the standard of services is still below average. With cancellations, delays occurring regularly, and overcrowded platforms and trains.
It is time the government held these companies accountable for this.
As the rail companies are not meeting the acceptable standards as a public service provider. The government should put an price freeze on increasing train fares prices.
Furthermore, Health and safety regulations should be put into place to limit the amount of overcrowded carriages and platforms. Making the rail companies provide extra carriages and safe waiting areas
for passengers.
The maintenance of trains should be regularly monitored and replacements trains provided.
