Petition Action

Parliament must make the 2016 Referendum result legally binding.

Petition Details

I call upon Parliament to legalise the majority verdict on the Referendum. The Referendum vote needs to become legally clear. Setting up a precedence for the official guidelines to the United Kingdoms approach to its separation from the European Union and its negotiations on trade.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because we are not sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

The EU (Withdrawal) Act and the UK's notification under Article 50 of the Treaty for the Functioning of the European Union both are legally binding.

We are not sure what other action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
