Petition Action

Change the law so Unions cannot simply disrupt key infrastructure without cost.

Petition Details

The RMT Union has held strike days on consecutive Saturdays in 2018, disrupting the public while providing no alternative means of transport. Unions should be liable for providing full alternative arrangements for users. Strikes can be safety critical if there is no visibility leaving users stranded

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you'd like to see action taken regarding strikes on public transport, but we are not sure what changes to the law you would like to see.

You could start a new petition calling for specific changes in the law.
