Petition Action

Make passports proof of ownership & abattoirs to require proof & keep records.

Petition Details

Passports should be proof of ownership alongside photo I.D of owner
A vet & abattoir/hounds should be required by law to scan every horse they attend/see/treat & keep necessary records & to cross reference them with photo I.D.
Police should help retrieve horses with proof of ownership & photo ID

Additional Information

When I began to search for 2 stolen horses I realised a few things most importantly:

1) an abattoir/hounds are not required to keep records. Nor do they have to check Identification or proof of ownership etc. In fact ANYONE could claim a horse was theirs and have a healthy horse shot and removed with no records leaves people with lost/stolen horses at a dead end.

2) If you find your horse the police will not help you to collect them. In fact you have to take the other person to civil court!
