Petition Action

Force all medical bodies, including the BMA, to support all recommendations with evidence that substantiates their recommendations

Additional Information

We are continually force-fed information by UK medical bodies that either condemn or criticise lifestyle and/or medical choices, yet fail to substantiate their basis in fact. Most recently, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has stated that researchers "have linked excess use of paracetamol-based medicines in young children to an increased asthma risk later in childhood" (quote BBC News http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-15821256).

Such claims, made via public media, MUST be supported by evidence to support the claims being made.
