Force Local Authority Returning Officers to only allow entitled people to vote.
Local Authorities in the main do nothing to ensure that voters in General Elections and referenda.
Only British Citizens, Irish Citizens and Members of the Commonwealth over 18 and living in this Country are entitled to vote but LAs do not have systems in place to ensure this.
The Electoral Roll forms sent out to households normally are filled in by a single person with no indication of entitlement of those on the roll other than a 'tick' box.
All persons on the form should be required to sign their entry to claim their entitlement and the voting form sent out should be colour coded for Polling Office staff to determine entitlement.
Candidates at an election are allowed to view the electronic checking of postal votes but have no right of challenge. They should.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand that you would like changes made to the way elections are run, but we are not sure exactly what changes you could like.
Returning officers are already required by law to ensure that only people who are eligible to vote do so. Under individual voter registration, individuals are now required to register to vote rather than by household. You can find out more here:
www.electoralcommission.org.uk/faq/voting-and-registration/what-is-individual-electoral-registration
You could start a new petition setting out the changes you would like to see to electoral law.
