Petition Action

Make it illegal for Newspapers to make fake story's to discredit actual issues.

Petition Details

Fake stories from the likes of The Daily Mail, The Sun and many more are deliberately sowing disinformation to discredit movements campaigning for gender equality or smearing non-Christian communities. They use social media to conquer and divide what is already a divided nation.

Additional Information

There is hundreds and thousands of fake articles written and published on social media everyday. The right and the left have been using this as a political tool to target naive and unaware voters. These kind of dirty tactics distract people from real issues which need to be addressed! I think if these fake story's were to be banned then we could have a honest debate on social media about real issues which actually effect people.

You could start a new petition setting out clearly how you would like the law to change.
