Petition Action

Carrying a knife to be an offence as “intent to murder persons unknown”.

Petition Details

If our society is not to descend into barbarity we must bring a halt to the scourge of knife crime.
Carrying a knife without good reason should be prosecuted as “carrying a weapon with intent to murder persons unknown” and if convicted carry a mandatory prison sentence of ten years.

Additional Information

Knife crime has risen from 26,000 in 2015 to 40,000 in 2018; an increase of 54%.

Every day we hear of tragic deaths of individuals murdered through knife crime, often over the most trivial of disputes.
