All referendums should be well-structured, simply majority is not enough
To leave no room for doubts, contradictions or ambiguity of a simple majority, all referendums, advisory or binding, should be well-structured with proper rules in place to determine the 'will of the people'.
Possibilities include: double majority, quorum, compulsory voting, etc.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you would the Government to introduce new rules surrounding referendums, but are not sure what rules you would like introduced.
You could start a new petition calling for all referendums to require a super majority to effect change, if that is something you would like to see happen.
