In 2014, there were 1,534,192 16- and 17-year-old's in the UK, while the number aged 18 or over was 50,909,098, putting 16- and 17-year-old's at 2.9 per cent of the 16+ population, this can mean we have an extra 50 million+ who could vote, meaning that voter turn out increases meaning we will have more of a legitimate government than a coalition government
